Information:Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework includes learning standards in five strands (content areas) and four grade spans (PK-2; 3-5; 6-8; High School). Last full revision in 2001, last minor revision of the high school standards in 2006.

• Time of Year: Spring
• First Operational Date: Gr. 4, 8, & 10 operational from 1998-2000; Discontinued from 2001-2002; Gr. 5 & 8 operational in 2003; High School operational in 2007.
• Type of Assessment: Multiple Choice, Open-response
• Other information: Gr. 5 & 8 integrated test--Earth and space, life, physical, and technology/engineering: 38 MC (1 pt. each) 4 OR (4 pt. each); high school tests--4 different tests, Biology, Chemistry, Introductory Physics, Technology/ Engineering: 40 MC (1 pt. each), 5 OR (4 pt. each). Starting with the class of 2010, students must pass one of the high school tests for the state graduation requirement.
